Eugeniusz Gerlach - Born in the Eastern Borderlands. He graduated from the National High School of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, and also studied at the Faculty of Painting and Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. He studied easel and architectural painting in the studio of Prof. Waclaw Taranczewski, and printmaking in the studio of Prof. Mieczyslaw Wejman. He received his diploma with honors in 1966, and his thesis supervisors included such personalities as Waclaw Taranczewski, Czeslaw Rzepinski, Jonasz Stern and Hanna Rudzka-Cybisowa. He is a two-time recipient of a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and Art. He has participated in about 70 group exhibitions and is the author of more than 50 solo exhibitions. His works are in many museums, institutions and private collections at home and abroad. He is a member of the Association of Polish Artists.
